Details for Private Parties:

For Private Parties, Color Clay completely closes its doors to the general public so that you can utilize the studio for your event.  Parties can be scheduled any day of the week, after 5:00pm. We have done engagement parties, corporate functions, bachelorette parties, non-profit fundraisers, church parties, and birthday parties for both kids and adults. You are welcome to bring your own entertainers (e.g., face painters, clowns, etc.) and catering. All pricing below includes studio time and up to 60 guests:
Minimum Time:   1.5hr
Tue-Wed-Thu:    $200/hour
Fri-Sat-Sun:       $350/hour

All Private Parties Include: Use of design tools, stencils, idea books, creative consulting, brushes, paint, glazing, firing, and studio time. Bisque prices depend upon selected items.

Bachelorette Package

The Bride picks out what she needs/wants in her kitchen (e.g., plates, cups, small dishes, etc) and chooses up to 6 colors and a theme (floral, geometric, polka dots, etc). This option is a lot of fun for the bride and her guests - AND the bride gets to KEEP everyone's painted ceramics for her new house! Bridal party is welcome to bring foods/cake/drinks. Price includes an instructor to teach how to paint the selected designs and clean up. Use of party room for up to 2 hours.

Only $30 party room fee (reservation) plus $10 per guest AND price of bisque (bisque price will depend on the item the bride selects). $10 can be deducted if instruction will not be required.

Planning Your Party:

  • Choose a date and time.
  • Pre-select a party package/type.
  • Call us to make a reservation at 210-231-0196 and pay the $30 party room fee.
  • Reservation fee includes use of party room for up to 2 hours. We recommend a 15-minute window for setup; 1 hour of painting time; 30 minutes for cake and presents, and 15 minutes should be allotted for our staff to cleanup.
  • Minimum of 6 painters, 6 years and older.
  • Our party room can accommodate a total of 15 guests (and that includes painters and non-painters). If you’re planning a children’s party, parents should drop off their children and pick them up at the end of the party.
  • Feel free to bring cake, soft drinks/juice, pizza, or any other party food.
  • Parties are designed for children turning 6 years old and up. If you would like to schedule a party for younger children, additional adult supervision may be required (parents, family, friends) - for a TOTAL of 15 guests in the party room and minimum of 6 painters.

Details for After-Hours Parties:

  • You can choose to schedule a party after hours (i.e., outside of regular studio hours), when studio space and staff are available.
  • Minimum of 6 painters.
  • Cost: $8/person studio fee plus cost of pottery.
  • Minimum cost of studio fee (min. 6 painters x $8 = $48) must be paid when reservation is made.
  • Price includes up to 2 hours of studio time, 6 paint colors per item, glazing, and firing.
    Additional hours: $4.00 per person/hour
  • We offer a 25% discount on studio fees for parties with over 12 painters
  • Party is allowed to occupy the main gallery area (not just party room) - allows for groups of up to 60 guests

Basic Party Package

Call us to reserve the party room for the date/time of your liking. We book up pretty fast for weekend parties, so we recommend calling at least two weeks ahead. The price per child/painter will depend on your budget - if you have $12-$15 in mind, we have a very vast selection of items within that price range!  Once the party starts, we can help painters select their items within your budget limits, and get the party started.  You are welcome to bring snacks/cake/pizza, drinks, cups, candles, and utensils. Party room for up to 2 hours. We do all the cleanup!

Details for "Paw Print Projects" to go:

Color Clay is now offering "Paw Print Projects" that you can take home! Come to the studio, purchase a ceramic piece (it can be anything - a mug, plate, a tile...) and borrow our supplies to create your masterpiece with your pet at home! Then bring the supplies and your piece back to the studio for firing, and you'll be able to enjoy it for years to come.

Price for the ceramic piece:   Depends on the item you select

Borrowed supplies:  4 brushes, 4 two-ounce paint bottles, 1 sponge, 1 paint tray

Deposit for borrowed supplies:   $10 - refundable when you bring the supplies back

to the studio

The ceramic piece will be fired and ready for pick up within 7-10 days. 

Please note:  we cannot keep items for longer than 30 days.

Theme Party

Do you have a "theme" in mind for your kid's party? (examples: dragon party, unicorn party, princess party, Spiderman, etc.) - give us a call at least 3 weeks before the party to reserve the items to ensure we'll have them in stock on the day of the party. Please bare in mind that we may not be able to accommodate all requests - selection is limited to our supplier's availability.

Details for Color Clay "Party-To-Go":

Are you planning a painting party at your school, church, or business location? Color Clay offers a "Party-to-Go" Package, with a minimum of 10 painters and minimum of $12/item purchase required. The process is really simple:  the party coordinator/requestor stops by the studio (at least 1 week in advance) to select their desired pieces and up to 6 paint colors; and pays a "Party-to-Go" fee of $25. This fee covers the cost of ONE party hostess for the first 12 participants for up to 1.5-hour party.  For 13 or more painters, an additional $25 fee will be required for a second hostess.

Mileage rates apply as follows:

5-mile radius of ZIP 78154:        no additional charge
6-10 mile radius:                     $4.00 additional charge
11-20 mile radius:                  $6.00 additional charge
21-30 mile radius:                  $8.00 additional charge

After the painting party is over, the hostess will bring all pieces back to the studio to be fired.  Once all pieces are fired (usually within one week), the party coordinator/requestor should pick up the pieces at the studio within 7-10 days.
